Specify CT-190A or CT-190M, not just “CT-190”

A wholesale order can be unclear even when it names the right tool family. In the Torchmark HVAC catalog, CT-190A and CT-190M are separate 45-degree flaring-tool configurations with different size lists. This checklist helps distributors put those differences into a quotation and purchase order.

Start with the exact catalog sizes

• CT-190A: 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 and 5/8 inch.
• CT-190M: 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 mm.

These lists come from page 05 of the Torchmark HVAC Tools Catalogue 2026. Do not replace them with a broad minimum-to-maximum range: that hides which intermediate openings are actually included. A buyer needing a size absent from the list should request another confirmed configuration.

Write two order lines for a mixed allocation

If your customers use both systems, specify each suffix and quantity separately. For example, a proposed 500-piece mix of 300 CT-190A and 200 CT-190M totals 500 pieces. At the catalog packing of 20 pieces per case, that corresponds to 15 and 10 cases respectively. This is a planning example, not an approved packing or availability commitment; confirm the allocation and packaging before ordering.

The catalog carton size is 27 × 20 × 27 cm. Ask for final packing dimensions if the retail packaging, accessories or carton quantity changes. Do not calculate the freight quotation from an unconfirmed packaging arrangement.

Use a short supplier confirmation sheet

• Full model suffix and every required tube outside diameter.
• Tube material, wall thickness and required fitting/flare specification.
• Photograph of the supplied clamping-bar size markings.
• Included components, packaging, labels and quantities by model.
• Sample identification and agreed acceptance criteria.
• Confirmed production lead time and shipment destination.

The catalog identifies a 45-degree flare angle, but the angle alone does not establish compatibility with every material, fitting or double-flare application. Obtain model-specific confirmation and evaluate the sample against the intended application.

Approve the specification with the sample

Compare the received model and size markings with the order sheet. Record the tubing used and follow the supplied operating instructions. Agree how clamp slip, visible damage, markings and supplied components will be assessed. Do not present a short sample check as a lifetime test or certification.
