SL-203 at a Glance

The SL-203 is a 290 g (≈ 300 ml working capacity) rigid-body metal oil gun built for workshops, garages, and production lines that need a precise, controllable oiler. The body is tin-plated steel with a leak-resistant cap, the spout is a 4 mm OD rigid steel tube with a precision-machined tip, and the overall length (body + spout) is ≈ 240 mm. The pump is a piston-style single-action pump with a serviceable seal; oil is dispensed by thumb pressure on the pump handle.

Material & Construction

The body is built to survive workshop drops. In our QC drop test (1.0 m onto concrete, 6 faces), the SL-203 shows no functional damage and the cap stays sealed.

4 Failure Modes We Screen Before Shipment

From 7 years of exporting metal oil guns, the SL-203 is built to address the four defects we see in returned goods:

• Cap thread galling → cap locks and won't open. Our cap threads are rolled, not cut, and the zinc plating is post-thread (no thread-bare metal exposed).
• Pump piston seal leak at low temperature → oil weeps at < -10 °C. The NBR seal compound we use is rated to -25 °C static / -15 °C dynamic; verified on cold-box test per lot.
• Spout base weld crack under thumb force → most common defect in cheap imports. Our spout is TIG-welded with a 3 mm fillet, then 100% pressure-tested at 0.3 MPa for 30 s before assembly.
• Powder-coat chipping at knurled grip → cosmetic defect that leads to rust. We mask the knurled grip area before painting; verified on cross-section audit per lot.

Care & Maintenance

• Refill with clean mineral oil or light machine oil. Avoid solvents (acetone, brake cleaner) — they degrade the NBR seal.
• Wipe the spout tip after each use to prevent oil drip on the floor.
• If the pump feels stiff, push the pump handle once with the cap off to release trapped air.
• Replace the piston seal every 12 months in daily workshop use. Replacement seals are available as a spare part line (MOQ 500 pcs).
